The Airway Signs Checklist
The clinical signs we look for when screening for airway and oral-function concerns, across every age. Built by a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Created by Dena Freedman-Muchnick, M.S., CCC-SLP, CLC — Founder of MyoSpotWellness
Pick the stage that fits. You'll only see the signs that matter for them.
Complete the self-assessment
In babies, airway and oral-function issues often show up first at feeding. Tick anything that sounds like your baby.
Watch your child for a week. Tick anything you see more than a few times.
These are the adult signs an SLP screens for. Tick anything that's you.
Tap the signs you recognize. We'll tally them here.
Get your results, saved
We'll send you a one-page PDF: your results, what each sign actually means, what to do next, and where to go from here — plus our monthly Airway Health digest from a clinician.

What the checklist covers
Feeding & latch
The earliest window. Reflux, colic, a shallow latch, nipple pain, endless feeds and clicking are often how an airway or tongue-function issue first shows up.
Breathing & sleep
How your baby breathes and settles, awake and asleep. Noisy breathing, an open mouth, congestion and broken sleep round out the picture.
Sleep, breathing & the visible signs
Mouth breathing, snoring, grinding and restless nights, plus the tells you can see by day: allergic shiners, drooling, bedwetting, recurrent ear infections.
Feeding & daytime
Picky or slow eating, difficult chewing, pocketing and gagging, and the daytime fatigue and focus issues poor sleep is often mistaken for.
Sleep, jaw & face
Snoring and apnea, plus the jaw and facial load an airway pattern carries: TMJ, facial pain, headaches, neck tension, and orthodontic relapse.
Function & daytime
Reflux, swallowing concerns and daytime fatigue that quietly trace back to how you breathe and rest.
